Dorla J. Woodruff, age 86 of Nashua, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. 

The Nashua-Plainfield boys basketball team wrapped up its season a little sooner than they wanted to last Thursday, falling 58-50 to Ackley-Geneva-Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock (AGWSR) in Class 1A, District 4 action at Rockford.

Nashua-Plainfield’s Jakob Whitinger stood in the tunnel at Wells Fargo Arena, and even though he had just saw his season end with a loss, the smile never left his face.

Members of the Lettermen and Letterettes have been, and will be, looking for as many sponsors as possible for this year’s lift-a-thon. 

Maurice “Mick” Merfeld, age 84 of Nashua, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs. 

The season ended for Turkey Valley’s boys in the district semifinal Tuesday night as they were defeated by Tripoli, 46-43.

Peggy J. “Peg” Eickhoff, age 73 of Cabool, Mo., and formerly of Sumner, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo.
