Ronald R. McGregor, age 88 of Nashua, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his home.Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Nashua, with the Rev.

Chickasaw County’s ambulance odyssey just got weirder as the Ambulance Council cancelled its meeting that was scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Ambulance Council released a terse statement that read:

There were no surprises when Turkey Valley’s girls competed at the Class 1A regionals last Monday, according to coach John Reicks.

This wasn’t the way it was supposed to end, but New Hampton senior Noah Fenske was one discus throw away Friday from seeing his brilliant track career end in utter disappointment.

On a windy Monday, New Hampton's girls finished 37 strokes lower than any other team at Region 3 of the Class 2A regional finals. The win  advances the girls to the state tournament, which will start next Tuesday, May 28 in Ames. 

Lawler will mark Memorial Day on May 27 with two events — a Mass and the annual program and ceremony.
