The annual Iowa State University Land Value Survey found that farmland values decreased 3.1%, or $369, to $11,467 per acre in 2024.

Shauna L. Anderson, age 44 of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

She was born July 28, 1980, in New Hampton, the daughter of Robert L. Cox and Linda Jo (Darr) Cox.

Curtis Reynold Schwickerath, age 59 of North Washington, passed away suddenly, due to a heart attack, on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024.

Members of the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors are looking to get rid of a walk-in cooler at the Heritage Center, and they’d like to see it gone sooner rather than later.
