The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual public hearing on its budget and tax levy this morning (Tuesday), but its chairman has yet to make up his mind if he will vote for it.

The idea is pretty simple in this Coronavirus COVID-19 Era: Folks who are ill shouldn’t be congregating in the same area.

The Coronavirus pandemic has made a drastic impact worldwide. One area in-particular is in the sporting world, as many professional and collegiate sporting events have been suspended or canceled.

MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and local public health organizations, is increasing visitor restrictions.

New Hampton Community Schools will begin dropping off lunches and breakfast on Wednesday at locations throughout the district.

The city of New Hampton announced Tuesday that it will close the Community Center, effective immediately.

Bars, casinos and move theaters in Iowa will close for two weeks, beginning at noon on Tuesday, according to an order released by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds as state officials tried to combat the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19.
