Sharrol R. Trower dies at 78
Sharrol R. Trower, age 78 of New Hampton, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare in New Hampton.
Funeral Services for Sharrol will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at Congregational United Church of Christ in New Hampton with Pastor Paul Pickar officiating. Burial will be held at New Hampton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral services on Thursday. Sharrol Ruth Trower was born on November 20, 1938 to Clyde and Grace (Kenyon) Sweitzer in New Hampton. She attended and graduated from New Hampton High School. While in high school, Sharrol and her brothers worked at Little Butches in New Hampton. After completing her education, Sharrol lived and worked in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. She was united in marriage to Dave Trower and the couple welcomed three boys, Mike, Archie and Tony. They returned to the New Hampton area in 1973. The couple later divorced. Sharrol worked for Dan’s Main Diner Café before opening her monogramming shop. She also worked as a manager of the Sara Lee outlet for several years and was a partime teller at Security State Bank until her retirement in 2008. Sharrol enjoyed sewing all her life and having coffee with her friends. Sharrol was most proud of her family and spent much time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Congregational United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship.
Sharrol is survived by her sons, Mike (Sandy) Trower of Davidson, NC, Archie Trower and Tony (Stacy) Trower, both of New Hampton; her grandchildren, Preston, Addison, Kamdyn, Angela and Bryan; her brother, Ray (Audrey) Sweitzer of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, June and Genny Sweitzer, both of New Hampton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean and her brothers, Lee, Dick, Veryle and Gary.
