She attended and graduated from St. Williams School in Alta Vista. Pat received her bachelors and master’s degrees in math and then taught at various schools.

Pat then decided to change her career and started to work at an optometrist office doing vision therapy in Independence. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri, working for Sprint as an administrative assistant. After retiring from Sprint, she was employed at an optometrist office doing vision therapy once again, working at the Kansas City Vision Performance Office.  She truly enjoyed working with individuals, especially children, in helping them to correct their vision issues.

Pat enjoyed going to art museums in Kansas City, watching and attending the Kansas City Royals baseball games and numerous other attractions that Kansas City had to offer.

Pat loved and received much enjoyment from her kitties throughout the years. She enjoyed traveling as well, especially spending a week in Cabo San Lucas.  She also enjoyed her summer trips to Maryland visiting her sister and then heading to the beach in Ocean City.

Pat then decided, for health reasons, to move to Mankato, Minnesota, to be closer to family. She moved into Old Main Village, an independent living facility, and made many friends there.

She enjoyed playing cards, participating in book clubs and numerous other activities as well as many family gatherings with Don’s family, especially at the lake. She also enjoyed visiting her sisters in Wisconsin and in Illinois.

Pat leaves behind her sisters, Mary Jane (Cash) O’Rourke, Severna Park, Maryland, Rosemarie (Helmut) Bonigut, Paso Robles, California, Maggie (Tom Thiel) Rivers, Chilton, Wisconsin; one brother, Don (Lois) Recker, Cresco; two nieces and five nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Madonna Recker, along with her nephew, Brett Rivers.

Pat was a kind and loving person with the unique gift of being a great conversationalist and an equally great listener to both the young and the old.  She will be greatly missed by her family, her many, many friends and her past co-workers.
