N-P continues to pick up experience

Lead Summary

Nashua-Plainfield’s volleyball team — especially its freshmen — continued to make solid strides last week as the Huskies battled Top of Iowa Conference rival North Butler before falling in four sets and went 1-2 at the Dunkerton Invitational on Saturday.
Coach Amber McCall’s team fell to the Bearcats 26-24, 25-21, 17-25, 25-19 on Tuesday and then beat Dunkerton in three set before falling to Vinton-Shellsburg and Turkey Valley in Dunkerton.
The Huskies have five freshmen — Breanna Hackman, Abbie Hyde, Makenzie Foelske, Jaycie Bilharz and Rylee Weiss — on their roster and Foelske, Hyde and Hackman have seen considerable playing time this season.
“I have been very proud of our freshman,” McCall said. “Some of them I have thrown quite a few different positions at them and they continue to give 100 percent toward whatever position I give them.
