Mistakes cost Huskies in homecoming defeat

Lead Summary

Injuries plus sickness plus too many mistakes is not a good football equation, and it all adds up to an 0-4 start for Nashua-Plainfield.
The latest loss came last Friday as West Fork used a quick start — the Warhawks scored on their first three drives of the game — to roll to a 34-0 non-district victory.
“We’re a way better football team than we were a month ago,” Nashua-Plainfield coach Nick Lamphier said, “but man, there are times we can feel cursed.”
At one point in Friday’s game, for example, the Huskies did not have a single starting lineman in the game because of injuries. And Nashua-Plainfield was also battling a virus that kept several players out of practice last week and had Lamphier feeling pretty low himself this week.
“If it can happen, it will happen to us it seems like,” Lamphier said, “but the guys, for the most part, have been working hard and staying together. It’s tough when you’re 0-4 and still looking for your first point.”
Nashua-Plainfield managed just 95 yards of offense as John Krull had 28 rushing yards and 31 more on five pass receptions.
