Huskies hanging in there despite another shutout loss

Lead Summary

The Nashua-Plainfield football team is in desperate need of some good news, and it might finally get some this Friday.
“Our injured guys are trickling back in, and we’re not going to be full strength yet, but we’re getting a lot of them back,” said coach Nick Lamphier, whose team fell to 0-5 with a 51-0 loss to St. Ansgar last Friday night. “I’m going to give the guys credit, they’re hanging in there. No one wants to be 0-5, I know that, but they’re not quitting.”
He pointed out that against St. Ansgar, his team trailed 45-0 at halftime, and he was worried that his Huskies might throw in the proverbial towel.
“That had the opportunity to get really ugly and go down a path none of us wanted it to go down,” he said, “but they fought hard in the second half.”
Still, it’s been a tough season, and the St. Ansgar game was no exception.
The Huskies finished the night with just 42 total yards and their running game went nowhere as they finished with just two ground yards on 12 carries.
