An early season showdown
There are times a loss can be just as impressive as a win, as it all depends on the competition. Although the Chickasaw boys lost Monday to Clear Lake, this was one of those impressive losses. Clear Lake finished fourth in the state last year and returned those same golfers to count a score of 163 against New Hampton. But the Chickasaws came in just four strokes over that at 167. “Despite the conditions, we played right with Clear Lake,” said coach Bill Glenn. “Especially on their home course, losing by four strokes isn't that bad.” The conditions Glenn spoke of were the cold and wind, which made for higher scores than the Chickasaw season opener last week, but Wyatt Stochl and Aden Zwanziger both managed to cut a stroke from that meet. Results from the meet may be found in the April 14 Tribune.
