Chickasaws can’t solve the 4A riddle

Lead Summary

The margin was worse, but Chad Sweitzer saw at least some progress Thursday night when his New Hampton boys basketball team fell to 0-2 with a 79-46 loss to Mason City.  The loss came two nights after the Chickasaws dropped their season opener by 26 points to another Class 4A team, Cedar Rapids Washington.  “We took some steps, not giant ones obviously,” Sweitzer said, “but I thought we were better with the basketball and for a while at least, a little more patient on the offensive end.”  But the Mohawks, who improved to 3-0 with an upset of highly regarded Waukee on Friday night, had just too much firepower for the Chickasaws.  More on the story may be found in the Dec. 6 Tribune.
