Hickory Grove Golf Course in Oelwein has not always been the kindest to the New Hampton boys golf team, so coach Bill Glenn was just happy to get out of Oelwein with a win last Thursday.
Although his team placed sixth out of the nine schools who competed at the Upper Iowa Conference track meet on Thursday with 54 points, Turkey Valley girls’ track coach Dalton Hackman was pleased with the Trojans’ performance.

After tying the nine-hole team score school record of 166 two weeks ago, this year’s New Hampton girls’ golf team can finally call it all its own after shattering the mark with a 161 on Thursday evening at New Hampton Golf and Country Club.
Not only did New Hampton’s girls win the Northeast Iowa Conference title Monday — for the fifth straight year — but the 328 posted by the Chickasaw girls set a new school record and a new conference record.

The Turkey Valley boys track team had one of their best performances of the season Monday at the South Winn Invite. Their 149 team points were only bested by South Winneshiek’s 172.
The Turkey Valley trapshooting team had a solid day all around last Thursday at the Turkey Valley Trap Range, as they possessed the best squad, top two boys’ scores, and top three girls’ scores against Cresco.
The beautiful weather conditions allowed Turkey Valley to run some of its best times of the season on Monday at South Winneshiek. The Trojans finished fifth of the seven teams who competed, as they mustered up 82 points.
The weather could not have been more perfect for the New Hampton trapshooting team this past Thursday and Monday, as the team posted some of its best scores of the season.
