Trojans girls improve to 8-0 with 51-39 win

Since MFL and Turkey Valley just played on December 8, the Bulldogs may have spent some time trying to find ways to stop the top Trojan scorers.  But then along comes Elli Winter.  The Turkey Valley junior scored seven points when the teams first met. So even though MFL held Shelby Reicks to only nine points Tuesday — well below her career high 27 in the earlier bout — Winter’s 18 points led the team in their 51-39 win.   “We found a way to win against a good conference opponent on the road in December,” said coach Dan Stepan. “Our posts players [Winter and Morgen Kuennen] played really well.”  Details on the Lady Trojan win may be found in the Dec. 23 Tribune.
