Ross Clement, 48

Ross Clement, age 48 of New Hampton, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2021 in New Hampton.
A Celebration of Life will be held from noon-4 PM Saturday, June 5 at Mikkelson Park at Shelter 5 in New Hampton. Lunch will be served and feel free to bring chairs. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice – Waverly.
Ross was born April 18, 1973, the son of Roger and Janet (Behnken) of Decorah, IA. In 1977, the family moved to New Hampton where he received his education and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1991. While in high school, Ross played various sports. His favorite sport was baseball which he played through his senior year. After graduating, Ross enrolled at Hawkeye Community College, majoring in Parts Management and graduated with his degree in 1992. During the next 15 years, Ross worked at auto Dealer and Parts Store, many of those years he spent as manager in the Waterloo and Cedar Falls area. He furthered his educations by receiving some mechanics certifications. Ross finished his working at Kerry Food in Fredericksburg and MDK in New Hampton.
In July of 2019, Ross was diagnosed with cancer. Later on that year it was pinpointed to Wild Type Melanoma at Mayo Clinic. He underwent two surgeries and many treatments until March 2021. Ross received comfort care Cedar Valley Hospice of Waverly until his time of death.
Ross is survived by his parents, Roger and Jan Clement and his brother, Russ Clement all of New Hampton; his aunts and uncles, Norma Kerr, Kay Behnken, Carsten (Linda) Clement and Doug (Judy) Clement; numerous cousins; his best friend and caretaker, Jim (Sara) Rahlf and their family. Special people in Ross’s life were his Goddaughter, Dylan Rahlf and cousin, Melissa Walz.He was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles, Sondra Schara, Alan Behnken and Donald Kerr; his cousins, Bobbet Schara and Dee Kerr.
