Robert “Bob” H. Robert Howard was born on October 8, 1941, the son of Harley and Katherine “Kay” (Wentz) Trewin in New Hampton, Iowa.  He attended school and graduated from New Hampton High School.  After graduating, Bob furthered his education in the accounting field.  He was united in marriage to Sharon Rochford on April 23, 1960.  The couple made their home on Trewin family farm near New Hampton and welcomed seven children, Richard, Tim, Kelly, Paul, Joe, Katie, Ted.   Bob made a life farming, breeding Chester White hogs, and managing Northeast Iowa Swine Testing Station for twenty years.  During his career at the testing station, Bob spent three months with the Rotary Study Exchange Team in Japan to assist in rebuilding the agribusiness in 1971.  He received numerous awards for his swine breeding program.  Bob continued to farm until 1995, when he went to work for Kraft Foods in Mason City.  However, his heart remained with the farming industry.  Bob helped Cavanaugh Farms through planting and harvest seasons every year since. 
Bob enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to visit his children in Colorado, Texas, New York and Europe.  His passion laid in swine production which took him across the nation and around the world. 
Bob is survived by his children, Richard (Kathy) Trewin of Erlangland, Germany, Tim (Linda) Trewin of New Hampton, Kelly Rose of Parker, CO, Paul (Amanda) Trewin of New Hampton, Joe Trewin of Charles City, IA, Katie (Ray) Gonzales of Little Elm, TX and Ted (Amber) Trewin of Waukee, IA; his grandchildren, Brittany, Luke, Joe, Rob, Marie, Tamara, Michaela, Isabell, Mia and Molly; brother, David Trewin of Florida; his sister, Julie Berst of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Diane Trewin; brother-in-law, John Berst.
