Roger J. Meirick, age 62 of Alta Vista, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Elma.

Michael Allan Showers — a beloved husband, father and friend — passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in West Union, at the age of 51.

Harold Francis “Harry” Gilbert — a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and pillar of the New Hampton community — passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023, at the age of 82.

Ben E. Ryan, age 94 of New Hampton, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center as a result of colon cancer.

Ben was the son of Ben E. Ryan, Sr. and Martha L. (Haker) Ryan.

Dorothy M. Schmauss, age 95 of Cresco, died on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, Minnesota.

Jane Jeanette Meier, age 87 of Readlyn, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the home of her daughter-in-law in Waterloo. She had been under the loving care of family and hospice.

Verla Jean Steege, age 83 of Fredericksburg, died peacefully Thursday April 13, 2023, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Steven Lynn McCarthy, age 59 of Ankeny and formerly of Nashua, died Thursday April 20, 2023, at his home.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 26, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nashua.

Teresa “Terri” M. Mehmen, age 61 of Nashua, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Waverly Health Center.

Services for Cyrilla Teresa Birmingham Haugen, age 90 of Nation Cottage, Cedar Falls, will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday April 30, 2023, at Parrot and Wood Funeral Home in Waterloo, with a vigil service at 6 p.m.
