New Hampton to host coed track meet Thursday

New Hampton’s track teams will get their first chance to run at home on Thursday as the Chickasaws will host the New Hampton Coed Invitational.  The meet begins with field events at 4:30 p.m. and running events at 5, and the field also includes Nashua-Plainfield, North Fayette Valley, Tripoli, Turkey Valley, Sumner-Fredericksburg and Waukon.  The meet will be mostly a varsity affair, but junior varsity athletes will compete in all four field events as well as four running events — the 100 and 800 and the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.   For the New Hampton girls, the coed meet will kick off a homestand, if you will, as the Chickasaws will also host a girls-only event next Monday.
