N-P boys rebound from rout to beat Vikings

Lead Summary

Justin Eiffler’s message between the first and second quarter of last Friday’s game with Northwood-Kensett came down to one word, defense.  “I told them neither team had played a lick of defense,” the Nashua-Plainfield boys basketball coach said, “and the first team that payed any attention on the defensive end and could string some stops together was going to win the game.”  It was the Huskies who got defensive minded and a 25-22 first quarter deficit turned into a 60-52 Top of Iowa East Division victory, a night after Nashua-Plainfield suffered through a 74-19 loss at Osage.  The rest of the story may be found in the Jan. 19 Reporter.
