Jeanne E. Freidhof, age 83 of Alta Vista, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton with her family at her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alta Vista, with Father Mark Murphy celebrating the mass.  
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Wednesday.

Jeanne Elizabeth Freidhof was born on May 8, 1934, to Leo and Eileen (Hoffman) Loes in Dubuque.  
The family moved to Alta Vista, where Jeanne graduated from St. William’s High School.  
After graduation, she was united in marriage to Cyrus Freidhof on Nov. 26, 1952, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alta Vista.  
Jeanne was a school cook at St. Williams’s School and later was a bookkeeper at Farmers Lumber Company in Alta Vista.  
She then went to work for Elma Lumber Company, retiring in 1989.
Jeanne enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, cooking and playing cards.  
She was devoted to her family, community and especially her church. 
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Rosary Society.  
Those left to cherish are her son, Myron Freidhof of Elma; her grandson, Cyrus (Jessica Sims) Freidhof of Waterloo; her great-grandson, Bradyn Freidhof of Waterloo; step-granddaughter, Betsy Moore of Edmonton, Ky.; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Loes of Alta Vista, Bernice Freidhof of Lourdes, and Lorraine Freidhof of Cresco; brother-in-law, Adrian Freidhof of New Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cyrus; sister, Lois Robinson; her brothers, John, James and David Loes; and daughter-in-law, Janice Freidhof.
