Four Huskies run to all-TIC honors

Lead Summary

Any other year and Jenn Kalainoff would not have been happy with the fact that her Nashua-Plainfield cross country teams had to run the Top of Iowa Conference on Monday, just three days before it heads to Cedar Rapids for tonight’s [Thursday] Class 1A state qualifying meet.
Then again, 2018 isn’t any other year.
“This season has been so weird that I couldn’t argue with it,” Kalainoff said when asked about the TIC meet being postponed from last Thursday because parts of the course at North Iowa Area Community College were under water. “We’re just happy to run whenever we can. … It was cold, but it wasn’t raining and it wasn’t snowing. That’s a win for us this year.”
And the Huskies showed plenty of mettle as the girls finished fourth and placed four on the all-conference teams while the boys took 11th in the team standings at the 18-team meet.
