Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Rusty Phillips presiding. Charles Lonzo Fowler was born May 24, 1938, in White County, Arkansas, the son of Roy and Edna (Dennison) Fowler. In 1972, at his sister’s home in Elgin, IL, he met his future wife, Colette Davis. The couple was married in Elgin on November 25, 1977. To this union two daughters were born. The family made Elgin their home. Lonzo always worked in junk yards around the Elgin area because he simply loved junk. He was a master of repairs and tinkering. He retired in 2000 and the couple made Iowa their home. Even more than junk, his family was his true love, spending time with his wife, daughters and grandsons. He will be truly missed by them all.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Colette; daughters, Kimberly Fowler of Autin, TX, Susanna Fowler of Fayette, IA; a daughter from a previous marriage, Mary Ellen Davis of Pekin, IL; three grandsons, Joshua (Amber) Fowler, Jordan Fowler, Zachary Fowler; two sisters, Elva (Doyle) Gray, Ima (Bud) Creasy, all of Rosco, MO; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George; six sisters, Lucille, Pearl, Virginia, Louise, Martha, Peggy.
