Career week gives peek in future

Lead Summary

New Hampton Economic Development and the New Hampton Middle School once again teamed up to put on the eighth grade career week where students learned what the “real world” is like and hopefully began thinking about their futures.New Hampton Middle School principal Matt Manson said the week went quite well.“It was great seeing the students learning from different people in the community,” said Manson. “They go to see different businesses out there and opportunities for their future.”The career week idea was just started last year with the eighth grade as a way for them to start thinking about what kind of careers they would like to go into and what classes they would need to take to get them there.“We are continuing this week because it is great exposure for the students to start thinking of careers,” said Manson. For the complete story see the 11/18/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
