WOF to hold Pumpkin Fest in Fredericksburg in October

Lead Summary

The Women of Fredericksburg are working hard to finalize plans for the annual pumpkin patch event. The Women of Fredericksburg have been holding Halloween activities for about the past 20 years, first as Women of Today. Through the years, it has been different events, such as a Halloween party after trick-or-treating and a pumpkin ride on the trail by the school house. This year the event is set for Sunday, Oct. 9, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Mattke Park in Fredericksburg. Some activities this year include the pumpkin patch with the pumpkins grown by the Fredericksburg firefighters (while supplies last), face painting by the S-F Lucky Clovers 4-H club, National Honor Society will hold a craft and a petting zoo will be held by the Fredericksburg Futures 4-H club. The group enjoys planning Halloween activities and being able to provide a family event. It is a great way for our community to come together and to involve other groups in a community event. Our members enjoy being able to make a difference in our community. There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides and appointments are not required.Freewill donations will be accepted and if the weather does not cooperate, the pumpkin patch will be held at the fire station.
