UIC foe ends Trojans’ season

Lead Summary

This loss may have hit Jaden Bruess harder than the rest of his teammates. The senior has cut time spent in other sports to improve his basketball skills.      Turkey Valley’s season ended with a 48-41 loss to Clayton Ridge Tuesday night, keeping the Trojans from a district championship game.      “We played great defense, we just couldn’t get the looks on offense,” Bruess said after the loss that ended the Turkey Valley season with a 14-9 record.      “But we made lots of improvements this year. And I love these guys, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to play with. It sucks that it’s over, but most of them will be back next year and I know they’ll make a good run.”      Clayton Ridge won by 13 points when the teams met in early February. On Tuesday Turkey Valley traded leads in the first quarter as an Evan Drilling 3-point shot put them up 5-4, a Kyle Langreck basket and the Trojans were up 7-6.  The rest of the story may be found in the Feb. 24 Tribune.
