TV girls top Riceville, extend win streak to five

Lead Summary

After not playing for over two weeks, Turkey Valley’s girls had a lot of pent-up points just waiting to be released. The Lady Trojans scored the most points of the season in a non-conference game Saturday, winning over Riceville 69-40.
The victory extended a winning streak for the girls — who last played on Jan. 11 — to five.
“Finally got a game in!!” Coach Carla Nymeyer continued, “I thought our girls came ready to play even though we had the long break between games.”
Among the first half accomplishments by the TV girls was a 6-for-6 effort from the free throw line, 10 points scored by Katlyn Baumler and a trio of 3-point shots by Kara Reicks, helping Turkey Valley to a 20-7 lead after a quarter and a 39-15 halftime score.
The rest of the story may be found in the Jan. 29 Tribune.
