Turkey Valley girls earn a spot in regional final

After defeating West Hancock Friday night, Turkey Valley's girls will play AGWSR Monday at Clarksville to try and earn their second straight trip to the state tourney.  The 11th-ranked Eagles came into the game with a 19-3 record, but fell behind early against the Lady Trojans. By the half Turkey Valley was up 36-23 and the lead was extended to 51-29 by the end of the third quarter.  Shelby Reicks was the game's leading scorer with 21 points while Elli Winter turned in 17 points.  Turkey Valley's only hurdle left to Des Moines will take the floor at Clarksville with a 19-4 record, ranked 14th in Class 1A while the Lady Trojans are No. 2 and are now 20-2.  Game time is 7 p.m. at Clarksville.
