Turkey Valley gets UIC sweep

Lead Summary

After an 0-12 start to the season, the Turkey Valley baseball team has been playing much better as of late. This was on display last week, as the Trojans picked up a pair of wins, sweeping Clayton Ridge in an Upper Iowa Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Elliott Dietzenbach led the way to the first victory with his performance on the mound. The senior tossed all seven innings, allowing four hits and no runs while striking out 11 Eagle batters.
“Elliott’s a stud. Whenever he is on the mound, I know our team has a great chance to win the ball game,” his senior teammate Simon Schmitt said. “His control of his curveball and the ability to locate pitches makes him a very tough pitcher to face. He was hitting spots and making the batters look silly swinging at some of the pitches he was throwing.”
