Trojans win a Saturday game over Riceville

Three seniors were honored before Turkey Valley played Riceville Saturday night, and all three — Simon Schmitt, Jason Herold and Dalton Rush — contributed to the Trojan 65-38 win over the Wildcats.
Turkey Valley jumped out to a 17-8 lead in the game and led 36-13 by the half.
“Tonight our boys got off to a quick start and our ball movement was great throughout the game,” said coach Chris Sullivan. “We had 17 assists on 24 baskets made and only six turnovers. I thought we pushed the ball better than we have all year and filled the lanes well.”
The Trojans shot at a 50 percent clip both from 3-point range and overall. They hit the most 3-pointers they have all year with 12.
“We did a good job of being three-dimensional throughout the game."
