Trojans rout AGWSR in 2019 opener

Lead Summary

Entering the season ranked as the No. 5 team in 8-Player by the Gazette/KGYM preseason poll, the Turkey Valley football team proved why it is  a force to be reckoned with, as the Trojans dominated AGWSR in their season-opener on Friday night by a score of 56-6.
“It was a good win to start the season,” head coach Mark Scott said. “We came through pretty healthy.”
The Trojans’ ground game was a key factor in this blowout. In total, they carried the ball a whopping 51 times for 365 yards — an average of 7.2 yards per carry — and seven touchdowns.
A plethora of different Turkey Valley rushers factored into this number with quarterback Ethan Leibold leading the way with 14 attempts for 118 yards. Marcus Herold ranked second on the team with 74 yards, while Dylan Elsbernd posted 61 yards on the ground.
