Trojans fall to North Fayette Valley

Going into Saturday's Crestwood Invitational, the Turkey Valley girls were woefully short on matches for the season.There are teams that had played in Saturday tournaments the first two weeks of the season that have 16 or 17 matches under their belts. The Trojans had two before Cresco.Even North Fayette Valley, who won 3-0 over the TV girls Thursday, played in one Saturday invite and now own a record of 7-1. Turkey Valley was close in only one of the sets as they lost 25-10, 25-20, 25-17."We still have some work to do," said coach Tammy Vrzak, "but we are seeing positive improvements in this young team."Leading the Trojan girls was Morgen Kuennen. She was only able to record three kills in 14 attempts, but also led the team in digs with nine and was 8-for-8 serving with an ace.More on the story may be found in the Sept. 13 Tribune.
