Trojan girls win first round

Turkey Valley's volleyball team extended its winning steak to 11 Tuesday night as they handed Riceville 3-set loss.
The Trojans started with 25-12 and 25-13 set wins. The final game was a little closer, but Turkey Valley, behind the serving of Breanna Busta, rallied from a 17-13 deficit to a 24-17 lead, and the TV girls would finish with a 25-20 win. Ali Hoffert led the team with 10 kills and Busta finished with six aces on a 21-for-21 serving effort.
Turkey Valley — with a 20-12 record — will take on traditional powerhouse, Tripoli, Monday at Tripoli, 7 p.m.
