Taking the next step
Last season, the Turkey Valley girls basketball team owned a solid record of 13-8. However, the Trojans are hoping to take a step forward and be even better this year. There is good cause for these rising expectations, as they didn’t lose a single senior to graduation.
“We are really excited to not have lost any seniors last year and have so many players returning,” senior Katlyn Baumler said. “Last year was a great building year, and we are ready to show what we can do this season.”
Not only do they return a wealth of experience from last year’s roster, but they also add a tremendous talent to the fold in junior Ali Hoffert. Hoffert - who previously went to school at South Winneshiek - averaged 15.1 points and grabbed 95 total rebounds as a sophomore for the Warriors. She posted strong defensive numbers as well with 73 steals and 11 blocks as a sophomore for the Warriors. She posted strong defensive numbers as well with 73 steals and 11 blocks.
