Taking on the big boys
Keagan John stood outside the locker room Thursday night and let out a sigh of relief.
“That was my guy that I didn’t box out,” the New Hampton senior said, “but thankfully, Jake [Zwanziger] or whoever was there to block the shot. … Did we foul them? Um, well, they didn’t call it right? So we must not have.”
Still, without John, there would have been no wild finish to the Chickasaws’ season-opening 63-62 win over Class 4A Mason City, for the senior came up huge — scoring a career-high 26 points and grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.
