Solid sweep

Lead Summary

Although she didn’t execute it perfectly, Sadie Tenge’s bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning during a suicide squeeze worked well enough to plate the game-winning run in the second game of the doubleheader against Crestwood on Thursday.
With the score tied at 0-0, Kayla Crooks doubled to start the bottom of the final inning. Alexa Wemark then advanced her to third on a sacrifice bunt.
It was here when coach Jack Seelhammer called for the squeeze play. Sadie’s bunt looked to be disastrous, as off the bat it popped up into the air. However, it managed to soar over Crestwood pitcher Laken Lienhard’s head and fall to the ground for the lone run of the game in walk-off fashion.
