Sayonara spring sports

Brad Schmitt obviously believes in the value of high school athletics.
He was a standout multi-sport athlete at Turkey Valley High School. He is the current activities director at New Hampton High School. So it was understandable that he struggled for the right words when asked what he would say to those spring sports athletes who lost their seasons on Friday.
“I mean probably the first thing is, especially to the seniors … I’d say … I’m sorry,” Schmitt said. “I wish … there was something else, but that’s really all we can say. I mean, we probably all knew it was coming, but to hear it, that makes it, you know, real.”
