A promising start

The numbers are encouraging, but so, too, were the results from Nashua-Plainfield’s first boys track meet of the season.  “We’ve got a lot of kids out, and that gives us some flexibility to do some things,” first-year head coach Chase Sudol said of his 27-man roster, which is more than double the size of last year’s squad. “And the guys ran, I thought, really well the other night.”  Nashua-Plainfield picked up two wins in the West Fork Early Bird and had maybe the most impressive second-place finish of the night at the meet that was held in Nashua last Tuesday.  Both medley teams — Nathan Murphy to Tristen Brase to Levi Enright to Evan Kalainoff in the sprint and Enright to Nathan Dettmer to Kalainoff to Dayton Hansen in the distance — picked up victories.  And Hansen followed up his impressive 800 anchor leg on the distance medley with a runner-up finish in the 1,600 in a personal-record time of 4:56.76.  For the full story, please see the April 6 Reporter.
