New Hampton students shine on state’s ‘more rigorous’ tests

In many ways, the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress that New Hampton students took last spring are just a baseline; after all, the ISASP is a new test.
But Superintendent Jay Jurrens shared plenty of positive news with School Board members when he reported on the results during last week’s regular monthly meeting.
“It’s a new test, but it’s better aligned with state standards and it’s more rigorous,” he said. “I think it’s a test that’s going to better show the progress our students are making.”
