New Hampton girls set new records while advancing to state

Balance again carried the Chickasaw girls golf team at Aplington-Parkersburg Monday. With their first-place finish in the regional final, New Hampton's girls will be making a trip to the state girls golf tournament in Panora next Tuesday. The Chickasaw girls set a new 18-hole record in the regional final with a 330, breaking the 341 they set earlier in the season. The Chickasaws raised their number of season wins to 39, which is also a record.
Allison Nuss tied for the runner-up score of the meet with a 78, while Ellie Ewert was fifth with an 82. All of the New Hampton golfers again finished under 100. The Gilbert team also advances to the state tourney with their second-place score of 355.
