N-P girls drop games to Bearcats, Riceville

Lead Summary

The Nashua-Plainfield girls basketball team endured another tough week as the Huskies closed out the 2018 portion of their schedule with two losses.
A slow start cost Nashua-Plainfield in Tuesday’s 58-36 loss to North Butler as the Bearcats jumped out to a 16-3 first quarter lead and extended the advantage to 36-11 at halftime.
The Huskies did put together one of their best halves of the season in the final 16 minutes and outscored North Butler 25-22.
On Thursday, Nashua-Plainfield traveled to Riceville for a non-conference game and trailed just 11-7 after the first quarter, but Riceville pushed the advantage to 23-11 at halftime and then held the Huskies scoreless in the third quarter on its way to a 36-18 victory.
