Mayor gives update to Nashua residents

Lead Summary

Happy July everyone! It’s hard to believe our summer is half way through already.I wanted to give you some updates on what’s been happening in Nashua. We did purchase two new snow plows on a lease contract. This process will allow the City to ultimately have the trucks after the contract period and allows the payments to be spread out over a number of years. The purpose for two new trucks was that our old trucks were breaking down. We need reliable trucks to move the snow and sand the roadways. The Council/ Mayor, along with business and public input, are working on a strategic plan for Nashua. Our focus is to work with existing businesses, revitalize our main street and bring in new business as well as work on our infrastructure. This plan will be displayed at City Hall after the final planning session. We also decided to implement garbage totes. You will get two totes – one for recycling and one for garbage.Prices are set based on the size of your garbage tote. Small size is $11, medium size is $15 and the large size is $20. You will have one price for the two totes.Dam repairs are needed and you will be seeing some rock/ other materials in Veterans Park in the fall to aide in the repair. It’s expected to begin in late September or October.Hope you enjoy the summer months and I look forward to talking to you again soon!
