Long shot dooms Chickasaw girls

Lead Summary

Alexa Wemark had been averaging 6.5 points per game this season. But when the Chickasaws’ leading scorer — senior Kaylee Eggerichs — came out before halftime against Waukon Tuesday, Wemark knew she had to step up her scoring.
“That was a big loss for us, Kaylee’s a big part of our team,” said Wemark. “At first when she went down I thought, ‘oh crap she’s not getting up.’ She doesn’t usually complain about things like that, just gets up and goes back to work.”
Eggerichs didn’t play the rest of the game.
