It’s all about Santa this Saturday in New Hampton

Come one and all to Santa Saturday this Saturday in New Hampton where events — many centered around the jolly old fellow — will be held for visitors of all ages.The day’s festivities begin with the third annual Great Plays Daycare Santa Store at the New Hampton Community Center, located across from Fareway and next to Kwik Star in New Hampton, from 8 a.m. to noon.Children will be able to shop with the help of an elf for loved ones with presents costing just between $1 to $3.The Carnegie Cultural Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a variety of crafts and projects available.Santa will make an appearance at the Carnegie from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pictures will be taken with copies available upon request.Adult coloring will take place with Carnegie Cultural Center Director Juanita Andersen. All supplies will be provided with some of the pictures available dating back to 1908.Cookie decorating will also be a fun activity with Carnegie Cultural Center Administrator Jill Eike.Eike would like to encourage the public to bring ornaments or make one at the Carnegie to hang on one of the many lighted trees located on the Carnegie’s lawn.This year, TriMark donated gifts to the Carnegie that will be given away as door prizes throughout the day. Drawings will be at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Public must be present to win.
