Hospital, businesses team up for commemorative items

Lead Summary

During the 100 years of its existence, one of the driving forces behind the success of New Hampton’s hospital has been the support the community has given it.That support, hospital officials say, continues to this day and can be seen in the number of area businesses that have partnered with Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton and the Friends of Mercy to celebrate the facility’s 100th birthday.Five businesses — Bennett’s Pharmacy, the Blue Iris, Schueth Ace Hardware, Pocketful of Posies and Engelbrecht Winery — are selling “A Healing Presence for 100 Years” commemorative merchandise.Mercy will use its proceeds to help pay for the 100th birthday celebration it will put on Aug. 4-6, 2017, while the Friends of Mercy will donate the funds it raises to the hospital renovation project that will be completed in the near future. For the complete story see the 10/28/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
