Heartfelt Farewell

Dr. Stephen Thorn walked around the Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton nurse’s station Tuesday morning, looked up, smiled, and then cried.Maybe the man who has touched so many lives during his 40-year career didn’t want this kind of turnout, this much fuss over a retirement, but he was undeniably stirred.And, so too, were those who left work and got their kids out of school to say two simple words, thank you, to the man who has, they feel, given them life.— For more on this story, see the May 18 New Hampton Tribune.
