Good night for everyone
The Chickasaw volleyball team didn’t have any trouble dispatching MFL-Mar-Mac Tuesday night, opening the first match of a triangular meet at Turkey Valley with a 2-0 win.
Turkey Valley also won over the Bulldogs, but it came a little harder, 2-1. That set up the highlight of the night, and even though the Chickasaws won over the Trojans in two sets, the TV girls put up a battle, 25-21, 28-26.
It was the season opener for Turkey Valley but New Hampton was on the court three times prior.
“I feel like last night went better than the first couple of games,” said Chickasaw senior Maddie Usher. “Turkey Valley definitely gave us more of a fight than I thought they would. They are a good scrappy team.”
After Trojan senior volleyball players and parents were introduced at the school, the Chickasaws opened with a 25-21 win. In the second set a kill by Turkey Valley senior Ali Hoffert tied the score at 3, she then went on serve seven straight points, including an ace to give the TV girls a 10-3 lead.
