Gessner, Usher lead way for New Hampton in first meet of the year

Lead Summary

The New Hampton cross country team kicked off their season last Tuesday with a meet at Newman Catholic in Mason City.
“The goal of the first meet was to get everyone back into racing mode,” interim head coach Kristy Manson said. “For many runners, it was their first cross country meet ever, so there were a few jitters.”
Although they didn’t finish near the top of the team standings in the men’s or women’s division, there were a few individuals that stood out for the Chickasaws.
