Even at less than 100 percent, Rinken enjoys Drake experience

It wasn’t the finish Rachel Rinken wanted, but it says something about the New Hampton’s junior that she even competed in the long jump at last week’s Drake Relays.
Five days after being injured in a farm accident, Rinken took to the runway and got off three legal jumps — finishing 22nd with a best leap of 15 feet, 1 1/2 inches. 
And although that was far off her career best of 17-5, she still enjoyed her experience in Des Moines.
