Elma prepares for Bike Rodeo

Lead Summary

Elma will once again have a Bike Rodeo on Wednesday, Aug. 17 in the Elma park.  All ages are invited to attend this fun-filled event to learn about bike safety, practice their skills on an obstacle course, learn bike maintenance, decorate their bikes, and more!  The event will conclude with a bike parade from the park to Colonial Manor at 7:15 p.m.  “We held a bike rodeo two years ago and it was a success so we thought we’d try it again.  The kids had fun and learned bike safety too!” shared Erin Ludwig, committee member helping with the event.   The Bike Rodeo registration is from 5:30-6:30pm.  The rain date is August 18th.  Participants should bring their own bike and helmet, if they have one.  If they do not, free bike helmets will be given away in addition to other door prizes.  The concession stand will be open with brats, hot dogs, walking tacos and root beer floats.    “We encourage anybody to come to the park –even if it is just to eat and enjoy our beautiful park.” shared Ann O’Brien, who is heading up the concessions that night. The event is being coordinated by Serving Our Community Committee (SOCC), which is part of The BRIDGE Organization, with the assistance of Upper Explorerland and Cresco Bicycles.
