Country Club is hoping for better weather

Lead Summary

Even though it may not feel like it, spring officially begins tomorrow. After a rough winter, the New Hampton Golf and Country Club is working diligently to have the course ready as soon as possible.
The head of the grounds committee at the golf course, Chuck Stanton, said golfers may have to wait a little longer than usual to play a round than in years past.
The grounds committee had plans to perform maintenance on the course, such as cutting down trees and other small projects. However, the weather had other plans which has forced these tasks to be pushed back.
“We’re worried about when the snow does melt how much water we’re actually going to get on the course and how long it will take the course to dry out,” Stanton said. “There’s nothing we can do about mother nature. She kind of dictates what we get to do.”
