Coed champs!
While they were on opposite ends of the team standings at the New Hampton Coed Invitational, both the host Chickasaws and Turkey Valley girls had their highlights as they competed on a windy, but dry Thursday meet. The smallest team at the meet, Turkey Valley was only able to muster one win — the open 800 with Shelby Reicks — but then, with short numbers, they didn't compete at all in 7 of the 19 events. New Hampton came in first in six events on their way to winning the seven-team meet with an even 20 points over the next closest team, North Fayette Valley. "It seems like in the past years we've been able to walk away with either the coed or our girls invitational title," said Chickasaw coach Jeanette Laures. "And it's fun to win, to be able to showcase some of our talent in front of the hometown fans." For all of the New Hampton and Turkey Valley results, please see the April 18 Tribune.
